Farmhouse
/ Music Studio

The following photographs are
of my most recent project. It is a music
studio, garage and new
gated driveway entrance built in the style of an Old English Farmhouse.
These were added to
the existing
property of 15
acres with a large main
house located in beautiful Lake Arrowhead,
California. The "farmhouse" is a fully functioning
professional recording studio with some very unique features. One
feature is
that every room in the building
is set up to be an isolated
recording area.
This includes the small entry, bathroom, and all the other
rooms in the
building.

All
the doors in the studio were
handmade, they
are 4 1/2" thick for sound proofing. Each
one is oak, over a 2" acoustic
insulation core. The
exterior main barn doors are 10 feet tall and
weigh 700 lbs each. The
floors and walls were lined with acoustic vinyl for
sound deadening, along with the addition
of a second 2x6 wall on all interior
walls. All the woodwork in the building
was hand
distressed and finished by a furniture finishing
specialist. The bridge
to the studio was required to support a 70,000 lb fire truck, hence
the huge timbers
required.
